The UK Renewable Heat Incentive is a new government backed scheme launched on in March 2011 to encourage people to use a more eco friendly solution to heat their home.
The RHI will revolutionise the way heat is generated and used. This new scheme is the first of its kind in the whole world to support renewable heat in this particular way.
The idea is to build a foundation of enrgy security for the future in world where we are dependant on oil and gas and to try and reduce our carbon footprint.
The scheme will have two phases of implimentation for business and domestic use. There is pledged support of around 15 million for UK households via the 'Renewable Heat Premium Payment'.
The RHI will be over seen by Ofgem.
The bottom line is that you will have a lump of cash from the government every year in return for heating your house with a pellet fuel log burner or log boiler.
